Best Authentication Practice for Next.js (app router) with Laravel API

Hey everyone! I recently switched my frontend to Next.js (using the app router) while keeping Laravel for the API. What's the best way to handle user authentication now? I know Laravel recommends Sanctum with cookie-based sessions, but since Next's app router isn't a SPA, what are you all using? Cookies with Sanctum, tokens, or something else?
