Making ViewMenuComposer

 Programing Coderfunda     May 19, 2022     Laravel, php     No comments

 I would like to make a ViewMenuComposer that fills my menu from a global array. As I was creating my Livewire components, I would like to register them in an array to automatically populate a side menu.

What is the best practice for me to do this? For each route registered in routes/web.php would I populate this array or would I be able to define it in my Livewire components? I believe that a component code is not read if it is not being accessed, right?

I wouldn't want to leave my component/controller to record what I'm developing in some file.

Thanks.

SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'g-recaptcha-response' in 'where clause'

 Programing Coderfunda     May 19, 2022     Laravel, php     No comments

 In Auth::attempt() we have to pass user's creadentials.

In this case, you are passing captcha along with credentials, so you are getting error

If you pass only credentials with out captcha in attempt method than you will not getting any error

I hope it will work

You have to use Category::create() instead of Category::insert()

Because create() is use for single row insertion and insert() is used for multi-row insertion

And also you don't have to specify created_at timestamps, laravel model handle it

And here you are inerting single row at a time

Category::create([
    'category_name'=>$request->category_name,
    'user_id'=>Auth::user()->id
]);

Maybe it will helpful

Laravel time Validation

 Programing Coderfunda     May 19, 2022     Laravel, php     No comments

 I built a booking form where user can select a starting date & time for the booking, but now I'm facing some issues to validate it.

If the beginning_date is today, the beginning_time should not be below than the current time, but,if the beginning_date is tomorrow than time can be anything.

I've tried to implement some rules, but it doesn't seem to work, I also had a look at laravel docs but doeesn't seem that there's anything for this problem.

What I've tried so far is :

$validated = $request->validate([

            'beginning_date' => "bail|required|after_or_equal:' . date(DATE_ATOM)'",
            'beginning_time' => [
                'required',
                Rule::when(('beginning_date' > date(DATE_ATOM)),  "after_or_equal:" . Carbon::now()->format('H:i'))
            ],
            'quantity' => 'bail|digits_between:1,9',
            'duration' => 'required',
            'type'=>'required'
        ]);

But it doesn't seem to work. Do you have any idea on how i can validate this inputs?

Thank you

Laravel Nova 4 conditionally show field on preview

 Programing Coderfunda     May 19, 2022     Laravel, php     No comments

 I am using Laravel 9 and Nova 4 and have a resource where a lot of the properties are nullable. I'd like the preview screen to only show a field if the value is not null. Looking at the nova docs methods like showOnIndex() and showOnDetail() etc accept a callback so that you can add a condition for whether to show them or not. Unfortunately the showOnPreview() doesn't accept a callback so is there another way that I can conditionally tell Nova to only show the field in the preview if the value isn't null?

Compare two columns from two related tables using scopes in Laravel 9

I was able to solve this using an additional package kirschbaum-development/eloquent-power-joins

I removed the scope from the Customer model

ServiceCall model:

public function scopeNotContacted($builder)
{
    $builder->joinRelationship('customers', function ($join) {
        $join->where(function ($query) {
            $query->whereNull('customers.last_contact_date')
                  ->orWhereRaw('customers.last_contact_date < service_calls.next_service_date');
        });
    });
}

public function scopeUpcoming($builder)
{
    $builder->whereBetween('next_service_date', [
        Carbon::today(),
        Carbon::today()->addDays(15)
    ])->notContacted();
}
